The person who has wrote this is saying that they can be the best country and that they just need to evolve which is just him saying that we can get better then we are now. He is also saying that his country has many flaws but with the help of nationalism and learning from the British they can get better. He says that if we can learn from the British then we can get better then them, he has also said that they are already economically stronger then Britten. He is showing his nationalism in a calm and not aggressive way and only saying that his county could be stronger and maybe stronger then the other country.

The Chinese royals had been influenced from Europeans to control more land within the nation. By 1900 China had lost many wars to Britain and France making it stronger foreign nation. After this Russia, Germany, Britain, and France slowly took territory's from China. China had many trading ports that give them many prophets so the Europeans took over 50 of those places and only gave the Chinese tax money. This made Chinese Nationalists very mad so then they formed a group called the boxers who would kill all British people and Chinese people who support them. But once this got out of hand the nations of Germany, France, Russia, Britain, and the U.S. made a alliance to stop this problem. After it had ended they were forced to hand over more territory and pay 300 million for damages.

They had stopped the slave trade and then started to find other ways to use them which they then made a ¨legal¨ trade with them. Many places had taken things from Africa by exploiting them. There would be many British people that would go to Africa to hunt for sport thinking of it as a playground for them to go to for vacation.

I say that the age of imperialism does deserve a bad rap because many of the things that had happen in this time period many of the things that had happened was white people taking things from Africa and Asia because they think of them as weaker country's or not smart country's. This is called social Darwinism where a natural a bigger country would rule over a smaller one. A example of this is a White Mans Burden, where white people think it is just there job natural to turn Africans to Christian. This is not okay because this is showing that white people look down apon Africans and that a white person has to teach them about Religion. Many Britain people went to Africa to also hunt, where they killed elephants and brought back there tusk as a trophy. This was making it hard for the Africans because this was endangering there wild life that they could use for food or for nature. There were many country's who were taking things from Africa without Africa knowing which meant that they could use the goods they stole to resell or trade back to Africa. This was harming them because this meant they were spending money on something that they had stolen from them. The spheres of Influence was attacking China by having the Britain people distracting them by telling the royals of China to conquer more land. While the Chinese were doing so the other country's were taking little chucks of land from China with goods in them. The Chinese had lost many wars to Britain and Italy until they stopped. Then the Britain took 50 trading ports from China and said that this was there but gave them tax money. Some Chinese nationalist were very angry with this so they had all got together and made a group that was called the boxers. This group was killing Britain and Chinese people who supported them, then it went to the point where they killed a ambassadress in Germany which made the people of Germany mad. So then Germany had made up a alliance with other country's to stop the group and once they did China had to give up more parts of there land and 300 million in damage. This all was effecting the higher ups in China when it was taking place but then they got back to normal living life´s.
