 See, to us, Juliet's case is perfectly reasonable because kids our age fall in love like... all the time (well, if they fell in love within 5 heckin' days then...). The father, the king, and in any patriarchy, the father was supposed to have full power/authority. So, not only was she disobeying customs, she was disobeying her father, and her king. So, let's capitalize on this father figure here for a minute. Our parental units seek what is best in our interest, according to what they see fit. And now, because women did not have equal rights nor decision making abilities, thereby, the father now has ultimate power. So, this guy is like, "Oh look, this rich guy- pretty hot- let's set him up with my daughter, who isn't willing to continue the Capulet Legacy. I need my kingdom to live on. Here we go, Paris dear, be wed to by wife." "Yeah, okay. She's pretty good looking, so... 😏"  
This king was doing what he saw was in the best interest of his legacy, and for Juliet. But oh no! She loves Romeo! They are getting married, so, that dog don't hunt! 

In conclusion, the father has justifiable anger, and I believe that Juliet should have followed customs, and should have obeyed her father. Screw love at first sight.
