Is it ok for the student to use the summary points that are generated as the basis for their thesis statements and main topic sentence for each paragraph?

Students have been told they cannot use AI to generate an outline.

Is the objective to create a summary?

Suggesting references to cite seems ok because the next step would to look at the sources that are provided; however, it could also go the other way of just copy/paste the sources as what was used to create the essay.

If the student cannot summarize, we have work to do to teach them that skill.
