STEPS:

1 Put 17 magnets one on the top of the other. Make sure you place them in the same direction when it comes to magnetic polarity.

2 Place a CD on the table, with the reflective side facing up.Put some glue on the magnet at the top of the pile, glue this magnet on the perimeter of the CD.

3 Do this with all the others magnets you have in the pile.This way the magnetic polarity (+ or - ) of the magnets will always be in the same direction. You can use an additional magnet to check that the polarities are identical. Your circle will probably have 17 magnets.

4 Do the same the same thing on the second CD, but make sure that ALL the magnets repel the magnets on the first CD. There should be repulsion between the two discs.

5 Place your CDs with magnets on the base of the disc tower. You can put a few discs below so that the assembly is higher.

6 Draw a line with your marker pen on the stem of the base, a few millimeters above the upper disc. With the saw cut the plastic stem. This stem will help hold the CD, otherwise the repulsion of the magnets would propel the disc sideways.If you don't have a CD tower, use a good amount of modeling clay or plasticine to make a base an stick it to the central stem

7 Take the juice or milk container . Cut and keep the plastic part used to pour the milk or juice. Then remove the capto keep only the neck of the closure with its base. Glue the neck to the centre of the upper CD. Leave it to dry. Then leave the CD on the stem.

8 Your magnetic spinning top is complete!! Use the neck you just glued to the upper CD to rotate the disc.
