I picked this because students do a very well job of speaking to each other however, they can get off topic very fast. I planned to use this in our FBI/ safety and sanitation unit. I will give the students guide questions to talk about and they will write/verbally respond in group.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>With musical ensembles, we do major scaffolding and chunking. Students need repetition over small segments of the music. I would like to add something so students can provide feedback for how their chunking goes. Once we get a measure or two, we add more measures until we get a phrase. Then add phrases and phrases together until we have the whole piece down pat. </p><p> </p>]]></description>

Specifically, we spoke about ways to help add structure to these group activities. Assigning each student a different color to write in on a group poster or graphic organizer instead of specific roles allows the teacher to monitor which students are doing what work. This structure holds every student accountable and ensures that they all gain an understanding of the content.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I can use collaborative learning. I can apply it to my lesson where students are practicing exponent rules. Students will work with a partner. They will have different problems but their answers will be the same. As they go through the practice sheet they will have to check their answers with their partner. If they are not the same they will have to look at both of their problems to see where a mistake has been made. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I often use Anchor Charts but allow it to be interactive where students can do a gallery walk in groups or pairs and contribute to the charts. It keeps them engaged and gets them moving. We leave these charts up during a lesson or unit so they can look at them/review when needed. They spark great class discussions. </p>]]></description>
