<title>A treaty is a pact or arrangement that has been officially confirmed between different groups/ tribes/ countries, usually Aboriginal peoples and the government. This promise is made about things such as water, food, and land. It sets out rights, responsibilities, and relationships between the sides. A treaty puts out benefits as well as obligations for each party, making things fair. Breaking a treaty is very disrespectful, as treaties are almost sacred to the Indigenous peoples. Making a treaty is like a sign of respect. Many treaties were made because the Aboriginals were agreeing to give up their own land in exchange for certain reimbursements. Treaties are very important, without these promises between the Indigenous and the explorers, the place we call Canada wouldn&#39;t have thrived and become what is our home today.</title>
