Have you ever read a book "The picture of the Dorian Grey"? For me, it's that book, that catches your attention from the beginning.
The main character, Dorian Grey, had two friends: Basil and Henry. The last one gives understanding to Dorian, that beauty of his age won't be forever. And because of that Dorian wanted just his picture to be older, and in fact, it turned into life. And because of that Dorian began to make cruel things with other people, and his picture began changing.
What I loved at that book was the character Basil that always wants to help Dorian. Also I like how author describe the background: trees, animals for example. But the one criticism that all of that describing is too long and consists of 50% of that book.
All in all, I recommend you to buy that book. But only if you are teenager and older, because that book for that target audience.

Have you ever read a book that ‘absorbed’ you?The Call of Cthulhu was for me like that.I read it in a week! It was written by H.P Lovecraft in 1926.It became very popular around the world and a lot of authors took inspiration from his books.Maybe you have seen the old movie ‘it’.Also a lot of video games were based on his books.

It’s set in the 20th century on Earth. It tells about Dagon, Cthulhu, Yogg-Satot and even more old Gods from the abyss. About their powers and cults,About old cities,fish-races,cosmic entities. The book is about 12 stories that take places around the world, from arctic to the USA and Arabia. Some of them are short, but some are maybe too long. The main thing that catches your attention is the description of everything I named /mentioned before.

The main thing I liked is that stories are more like notes,so you can think out a little of the story by yourself. My favorite ‘note’ is ‘Danvich’s horror’, it tells about one degrading American town where some old man is doing occultism. On the other hand the main thing I didn't like is overfilling some stories with ‘water’,but it didn’t spoil my overall enjoyment.

Long story short, the book is 10/10,I would absolutely recommend reading it all or only one short story called ‘Dagon’(fish-god).You won’t be disappointed.
