<title>But the Renaissance also saw that science today came about and they stepped away from magic and relied more on people observing the human body and experimentation this is partly because of the new books that had been found that talked about dissection and anatomy and they also encouraged examination of symptoms and come to their own conclusion on what caused disease people started to question gallons teaching but his writings continued to be studied.</title>

<title> Vesalius wrote anatomy books with accurate diagrams Vesalius believed that the only way to propper surgery was through understanding the human body better Vesalius was able to perform dissections on criminals who had been executed this let him study the human body closer he wrote books which had accurate diagrams to illustrate his work he printed the books and distributed them around Europe including Britain he pointed out some of Galen&#39;s mistakes in the book the fabric of the human body (1545) he showed there were no holes in the sternum of the heart this meant doctors started to question Galen. dissecting bodies happened more and more </title>

<title>Harvey discovered the circulation of the blood Harvey studied both animals and humans for his work he realized he could observe living animal hearts in action and his findings would also able to humans before Harvey people thought there were 2 kinds of blood that flowed in 2 different system this was Galen&#39;s idea but Harvey proved this wrong from his experiment he found that to much blood was being pumped from the heart for it to be pumped and consumed so he thought blood circulated around the body so he made maps and writings of his finding however not everyone believed him so this took along time before they used his ideas to treat patients people continued to perform bloodletting </title>

<title> Pare improved surgical techniques first pare was a barber-surgeon then he worked in public hospitals here he became a army surgeon at this time gunshot wounds would get infected doctors didn&#39;t know why so they would put a red-hot iron onto it then pour burning oil over it this may have worked in some cases but most of the lime did more harm than good pare ran out of hot oil so resorted to using a simple cool salve instead to his surprise the patient treated better in this way then with the hot oil he also improved the treatment of amputations before him they would cauterize the amputation site to stop bleeding. Pare invented the method of tying off the blood vessels with ligatures this was less painful than cauterization so fewer patients die of shock however it did increase the risk of infection </title>
