This study aims to find out the role of the note taking strategy (listening) for listening skills (listening)
Listening Skills
 listening skills play an important role in the learning process of English as a second language because it can provide meaningful input for people who are learning the language. He then stressed that without understanding the input at the right level, the learning process could not be carried out. Therefore he believes that the ability to listen is as important as speaking.

The listening activity itself has several types that are in accordance with the activities carried out by students, while the participants are:
1. Intensive listening, which is intended so that students can find out about the components in the language, issue a discussion about phonemes, words, intonation, and so on.
2. Responsive listening to short material in the form of greetings, questions, requests, etc. issued so that students can give a short response.

-Selective In this type, activities are focused on listening activities aimed at making students able to scan the material presented and be able to gather information relating to certain topics, such as teaching complaints, news from videos, audio, or stories. At a later time, students will be invited to listen and look for information about names, numbers, directions or events in accordance with the recordings presented.

- Broad Listening. This type of listening activity presents material that is longer than other types, for example taking notes when the teacher is giving lectures to his students and conversations involving several people. Students are expected to be able to publish global publications from the recording. So that participants can gain a complete understanding, it is advisable to use interactive skills, such as entering important information, creating a set of questions and engaging in discussions related to the topic presented.
