When these children grow older without any registration, they can find it difficult to claim their own rights, and likely to be less-visible in society. So, it is the law that all children who born in Mexico must be registered in the first six months of birth but if parents do not register the child on time, they are required to pay a fine and can deal with judicial procedures. When parents take responsibility and register their child on time, they are proving them a better life and including them as a member of a family, and as a human being with values in a community and society.

In many countries the civil-registration systems require further strengthening to avoid lots of children unprotected. It is not enough to get birth certificates in isolation. It has to be an integral project that can support children all time. There is no doubt that children deserve: 

• a legal identity
• access in health services 
• protection 
• a nationality

Birth registration is a basic human right to acquire a citizenship and a nationality. Children are an extraordinary blessing to any country. They are full of potential and they play an important role in the construction of a new generation.
