And then I thought - "heck, he's done as great a job of mentoring new TRB staff as he did mentoring those of us he had to help set up and run NATMEC meetings and other TRB events, so I guess TRB will survive." But it won't be the same.  Seeing you at TRB has always been a highlight. Talking to you on the phone has always been a huge relief as you helped me through whatever conference / committee / project details I needed help with. Like everyone else, I will miss you. Many, many thanks for all you've done for the profession over the years, but even more so for your friendship, advice, and assistance. Enjoy your well earned retirement!
