This is my first time observing online about an Elementary school. I feel the area and location of each room are somewhat different and somewhat similar to a pre-school and kindergarten that I used to be at. After I visited HOB Elementary School in Milton , I saw many things that impressed me. First, at the main entrance, security requests before entry to the building by using the push "Buzzer" to check your purpose of visiting and all employees have badge that doubles as key card, doors always remain locked for safety, the leader has handle to hold and have monitor children while they eat at cafeteria. This is the first thing very important at school to protect the students. I always remind myself when I take care the children that is "Safety first".

Second, they decorated in front the kindergarten is very pretty and show symbols of the room to make children remember their classroom, but the kindergarten, don't set up area such as role play, blocks, reading, or art area but they design the classroom like tutor style and look like they focus on tutoring not play base learning. I don't like have kindergarten room have too many tables and chairs because it is not safe. They should open areas to let them movement more, and space for circle time. Their cubby have labeled with a child's name that great. However, it is very great that each classroom having its own bathrooms.

Third, I like that students in second and third grade have their own lockers, and the shape of the table for the work group is a nice design, but hopefully the wheels of the table always lock because it can be an accident if unlock and a student might put table and can accident. The classroom of the elementary class is clean and more organized, not messy, everybody can see the whiteboard. Allow the chairs to be put up on the table to make students easier to cleaning their room. Outdoor is open space and playground have appropriate equipments for children development. It seems like students in this school have a lot of options for learning and developing physically in different ways, and school provides students with materials, tools, technologies such as computer, gym, comfortable chairs, etc. When students feel sick, the school has nurse's office to take care of them too.

In addition, the school still have materials and furniture that are convenient for teachers, such as a private lunch room without children during break, a microwave, or a mailbox. Overall, this school is very nice, well organized, and has security for employees and students. I believe the school's atmosphere will help them enjoy to teaching and learning together.

I have never done a virtual tour of an elementary school before, but I feel I learned very interesting information today. Conveniently, I was in the Cape Henlopen School District and attended Love Creek Elementary School in Lewes, DE; which has an identical architectural layout. Even after attending LCE many years ago, I feel I learned very important information in this tour I hadn't known before. To add, from a students' perspective, certain aspects of a school and classroom which hold purpose for educators or staff don't always stand out to us.

Firstly, I felt learning about the different sectioned "decks" was interesting. While attending Love Creek Elementary, I was aware that each grade level was sectioned off; the layout just didn't hold any value to me as a student. However, seeing it from an educator's point of view, I see that it helps keep order in the school while also making collaboration easier for teachers within grade levels. Secondly, learning about the different types of desks for each grade level was very interesting. Depending on the grade level, the desks are different shapes and offer different storage methods (or none at all), depending on their prospected needs for the type of learning done in the classroom.

From a students' perspective, certain aspects, such as classroom themes and furniture on wheels didn't hold any importance to me. I now understand that classroom themes make a classroom more inviting while also letting a teacher have their own unique space. I also now understand that having furniture, such as desks, white boards, and chairs on wheels makes it easier for educators to design and manipulate the classroom and/or learning environment for each lessons's individual needs. After viewing this virtual tour, I feel very excited to do observational hours and learn more about the aspects of the classroom and teaching, as a whole, that I have previously ignored.

Coming from the Seaford School District I have never experienced a school with such a theme. I found it very interesting to see how well this school incorporated the towns history into the school theme. H.O.B did an amazing job making the teacher's lives easier with having much of the furniture on wheels and the students very engaged with all the flexible seating. The wood covered walls, water sculpture, the nurses offices being called the "sick bay", and the stair case decor took this school to a next level. Though H.O.B seemed like a great school, I personally think I would not enjoy working at this school. The lighting seems dark and it lacked color, the only colorful place I saw was the library. Also given it is a new school and it is very big I did not like how they combined the gym, cafeteria, and auditorium in one. I can say though the outdoor stage is very cool.

Diving deeper into the structure of the school I was intrigued to see the different "decks' that divided the students. I liked how kindergarten students remained on the first floor, and the older students were on the second floor. They even separated the students outside giving the younger students a separate playground/ equipment. These small details truly make this school safer and more organized. Something I truly liked is the fact that all kindergarten classrooms had their own bathroom, I had never seen such thing. Also the desks were interesting, at first I thought why are they such a weird shape/style but, then I learned that you could put the desks together to form a table for partner work. The tour pointed some things out for me that I now know to look for when finding my teacher position in the future.

This was my first time doing a virtual tour of an elementary school before, but i definitely learned some things. Coming from the Brandywine School District, our building didn't have themes like this. Our building were pretty generic and basic I guess you could say. I liked how the school involved the towns history into the school theme. I liked how the school made all the furniture have wheels on the bottom on it so its very easy to move around, it makes it very connivence for teachers. one of the things that I did not like so much was the idea they had to combine the gym, cafeteria, and the auditorium, but I was interested with the outdoor stage.

I think learning about the different sectioned" decks" was interesting, it was similar to my elementary school. We had different sections of the building for different grades, so k-2 were downstairs and they had their own section and then 3-5 were upstairs. I think that is the best way to set up the building so that you know were each grade level is. I liked how they separated the recess equipment for different grade levels. Another things that is I found interring is that they give all the kindergarten classroom their own bathroom. I think that is very helpful for the teachers so they don't have to worry about their kids running off or you having to go with the to the bathroom. After viewing the virtual tour I am exciting to do my observational hours to see how the building now have changed to when i was in school.

During the school tour of the H.O. Brittingham Elementary School I kept asking myself, "How does this compare to my elementary school?" The answers that came to me were mostly quite obvious, and as such I repeatedly contextualized the differences with two facts. I went through kindergarten to fifth grade from 2005 to 2011, and that my school district was located in a significantly different part of the country. In the almost 15 years I have unintentionally avoided my elementary school, I can understand how new improvements in technology and deeper understandings of child psychology could improve the learning environment of a young student of about five to around ten years old. To go over what significant differences I can recall of my elementary school experience, briefly, the hallways were a very plain white, technology was limited (i.e. no Chromebooks or laptops, any computer usage was limited to the library), common areas were not child friendly (i.e. the library had wall sized book shelving that was not easily accessible to young children).

Another difference that stood out to me from my elementary experience was the fact that a home economics class was taught to such young children. I believe this is a great curriculum to teach to young children, I just find myself quizzical of the fact I wasn't taught that until high school. Again, the more than significant gap in years and distance between my experience with elementary school and the H.O. Brittingham Elementary School is most certainly a factor. The recent renovations to the H.O.B. Elementary School make me look at the school with modern eyes, and while I can't easily return to my elementary school, from my recent pass by of Enfield Village Elementary School durring a small road trip to my hometown, I can say that looking from the outside the school hasn't changed much. Maybe the playground got smaller.

I feel that I would enjoy teaching somewhere such as H.O.B. Elementary School because the ingenious ways the school seems to cater to it's young student base. Both the classrooms and common areas are built with community between students in mind. Child friendly libraries, open common areas or "decks", and moveable seating in classrooms gives me a great feeling of togetherness. Perhaps this is because I missed out on such a beautiful school when I was a younger student, yet I find myself more than content that students of H.O.B. Elementary School have such a wonderful facility to introduce them to their school journey.

It was interesting to have a virtual tour of the school from a teacher's perspective. The school has many differences compared to the schools I attended in South Africa but is similar to the schools in the Seaford school district where I have worked as a substitute. One of the main differences I noticed is the structure of the buildings and the technology available in public schools. In South Africa the Private Schools mainly have such facilities.

I would feel amazing teaching in a school like H.O.B Elementary as it has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, the kindergarten section is so colorful and welcoming, and I love how the teachers have themes for their classroom to help younger children find their way to their class. The classroom designed as an apartment was really wonderful to see because it shows the amount of effort is put into making kids with significant special needs be able to learn how to do meaningful tasks in the home-like setting while still being part of the typical school community.

I noticed that safety of the students is priority as there are always ways in which they are kept safe, and the teacher is well aware of where the student will be through the hall pass, this was one aspect that was similar to the school that I attended.

The outdoor playground was wonderful to see as to how it is smaller for the kindergarteners to accommodate for their size and then the older kids have a larger different one, the outdoor stage was interesting so see as it is unique and kind of brings out the theme if the ship.

I enjoyed the tour till the very end when they show the busses as it is very different from South Africa as the students have to have their own mode of transport to get to school. The tour also helped me with ways to organize my classroom as a future teacher which I am definitely looking forward to in a few years.

I’ve never done a virtual school tour, but it was nice and interesting. My elementary school didn’t have a theme like HOB. I thought that was really cool. We were the Terrapins, but the school wasn’t themed like that. The school has had some updates, but it is still very reminiscent of the school I went to. I loved going back to intern in a second grade classroom last year.

I might like working at HOB one day. It’s near the restaurant I work at now and it looks very nice and technologically advanced. My old elementary school has such a special place in my heart and I would love to work there most of any public school, though. I liked the school and I’m sure the staff is very nice, but I have a relationship with the Mispillion staff and I love it there.

There was a lot of space and the wheels on everything made it easy to reconfigure things and adapt to unexpected circumstances. The school was very polished and neat. The gym allowed the space to serve two purposes, the gym and the cafeteria. It also offered the space to allow creativity to be expressed both indoors and outdoors with the stage. The classrooms were very well thought out to promote learning. The nurse’s office was clean and looked well organized. The two separate playgrounds allowed multiple classes to play at the same time and exist cohesively in the same space while simultaneously giving classes their own area to play. The turf offered a good area for co-playing. Overall, the school was very impressive.

Starting with the tour of the school, which differs from my own elementary experiences, begins at the main entrance to the building. As seen on the wall as you enter the building, it was built very recently in 2018, whereas my elementary school, Phillip C Showell Elementary, was built in 1958. You can also see at HOB Elementary School that the building has more windows and seems more welcoming and inviting compared to the brick box that Phillip Showell was. Both my old School and HOB seem to have similar lock functions in the office for safety. From the first glimpse at the inside of the school, I can tell the vast differences. For example, they have a ship theme throughout the halls with very beautiful wooden walls and decor to go with it. The way the classes are set up, I think, is very unique. All of my classes were in separate rooms in one hallway, where HOB has a big room called the "Deck" where the classes all open to where there is plenty of seating and learning utensils. I think this can get kids excited for school and increase social time, especially among classes where, in my elementary years, I barely talked to anyone from separate classes except for school events and recess.

I think that HOB is a better school to learn in as compared to where I learned. They have innovative class dynamics, better infrastructure, technology, resources, classes offered, and better safety measures. In my experience in school, I always felt like we were underfunded and had limited resources compared to other schools. Most of what was offered to us was older resources that have been worn. I would definitely enjoy teaching at a school like this. From the more experiences offered and created, the modern technology and infrastructure, and the overall environment being a ship theme throughout is a good way to build a school's individuality that can make going there feel special and unique to you. I feel that if I were to teach at a school that may not be as funded as this I would be upset because I wouldn't feel like I could give them the same chance as they would have if they had the same newer technology, resources, etc. as seen offered in HOB.

Touring Hob, I realized the difference from my elementary school and the way this elementary school is structured for the students. John M Clayton is the school I went to and it’s a very old school because it was the old Indian River High School but it was built in 1932 and Hob was built in 2018. Comparing Hob and JMC they are very different in lots of ways. JMC is a 2 story school but on the first floor kindergarten through first grade are on this floor but second through fourth grade is upstairs and fifth grade is on the other side of the school near where the special classes are such as gym, art and computer. On the first floor for Hob it’s only has kindergarten but first through fifth graders are upstairs which is crazy because I wouldn’t expect first grades to be upstairs with the upper classes. Throughout the school we really didn’t have a theme like how Hob has the pirate theme but we express school colors with green and yellow walls. In the kindergarten hallway, there are classrooms for teachers that take students for testing or R.T.I but they have a classroom for the special needs student too. Another thing, some classrooms would have a small table outside the class, this is where teachers would take students to do whatever they needed to get done. Inside the classroom, certain classes had bathrooms in them, others didn’t but the classroom was always filled with posters, and other learning materials for the students. Certain classrooms had curved tables, a circle or a long rectangle table but everybody had different colored chairs. In the other grade level, they have individual desks for students to put their material in but some classes switch so students would be sharing a desk with other students from different classes. The floors in the classroom are very annoying since some classes have wooden tiles that make noises every time you step somewhere or just have the regular white tiles. Hob hallways sections are the same with having colorful comfortable chairs for the students but they make sure it’s the right height approach for the young students which I feel is safe to do. Their classroom shocked me because each kindergarten classroom has their own bathroom, the second and third have lockers inside of their classroom and the fourth and fifth have sinks for the science lab. Our library is a space where the school would host events such as the book fair or other reading events. The library isn’t really enjoyable to read at since there are these wooden tables and stairs that make noise and not an area to sit comfortably and read. Hob library is very interesting because it's a painted portrait with the elementary in the center but the community outside the school with the district on it with a comfortable area for students to sit down and read. Outside of JMC we have the playground but there is a building for where the stem and the music room is located for specials. The playground has changed as years went on because now there are swings that you can lay in, and even ones where 3 people get on a swing and someone spins you high in the air which I feel it’s unsafe to have at an elementary school cause we never had that but they did built us basketball court near the tennis courts. Hob had 2 types of playground for the young students and older students but they designed it with a pirate theme since they had a ship, treasure hunt and octopus playing feature for the students to have. Despite the difference between these schools JMC and Hob are both welcoming and beneficial to students but in unique ways.

Therefore, exploring Hob made me realize that I wouldn’t mind teaching at a school like this. I say this because the school showed the benefit of meeting student’s needs in order for them to be successful. The school not only focuses on academics but also on making students feel comfortable throughout the school year. The school had a lot of resources with having smart-board out in the hallway lobby for the grade level, cross neck classroom which is an outdoor classroom where teachers can take their class to teach them with tables and chairs out there for them. On the upper level they had an area with more furniture for students that may need comfort but teachers can take 2 or 3 students in there for whatever need. In the lunch room I like how they had grab and go for students that wanted more food but during covid 19 Hob helped families in need which is nice of them since covid had an impact on schools during that time. I feel that giving to the community in need will influence your school because it can help with donations for the school but children will attend to your school because they know that the school has a helping resource for them. Developing a classroom for students in need that needs help with life skills is very thoughtful for Hob to do. Having this class can help students with life skills and the classroom design as an apartment can help the student learn different material around the house, so when they go home they will know what is around them at home. I feel developing life skills in elementary schools is beneficial because some students may not have someone at home to teach them the skills they should have learned. Also, within the classroom I like the way every grade level classroom is structured inside of the class for the specific grade. For example, the kindergarten table is a big square with only 3 chairs at each table but in fifth grade, the desks are shaped differently with comfortable chairs. The playground is very nice and the theme relatable which makes the school even more fun because not only is the theme being expressed inside the school but outside as well. I like the space the playground has because they are looking out for the students safely with having a section for young students and the older students but teachers will really have to watch the students since it’s lots of space. Even with the safety, I like the way the art room has hallways pass for the student because teachers would know where the student have went. If something happens to an student the teacher can look at the pass and figure out where the student is. I like the outdoor stage because schools can host little shows for the students which is fun to do for the end of the school year. In addition, during the tour I enjoyed the cross neck outside because taking the class outside to teach them is a fun, relaxing time for the students and teachers. Taking a break from being inside of school all day is refreshing for the students because their brain can get air but students can enjoy nature while being educated at the same time. Outside learning can engage the learning more especially if you're doing a lesson on nature in science or and reading about animals.

I would say this school is definitely innovative and very creative. It looks like a private school. The tour in the H.O.B school, I really liked the details of the school from the beginning: the entrance, the detail of the wall, even the detail of the stairs. I like the history conveyed by this design and the creativity in motivating the students. According to what I read, the school is structured to resemble a ship; to me, this means it was planned with great care. The school features many details that facilitate the teachers' work, such as the placement of classrooms and appropriate spaces for kindergarten children, the easy access to bathrooms, like in the kindergarten classroom and the nursing and and the flexibility to move stuff around the classroom. This helps teachers organize their classes in the best possible way. It also has good security in areas like the crow's nest and the park.

I don't know if you know this, but Guatemala is a country with little innovation in many areas, and this includes education, especially in the rural areas where I come from. So, I definitely see a big difference between my old school and the H.O.B. tour. I would really like to teach at a school like this because of the facilities and, above all, to gain many ideas and experiences that I can take back with me.

I don't know if this is common in the United States, but the idea of having the bathroom in the kindergarten classroom is an ingenious one. It gives teachers more freedom to continue the class without any worries and prevents other students from being neglected. Another thing I liked is that the classrooms have tables and not desks. This increases the chances of children interacting, making friends, and losing their shyness and fear of expressing themselves. On the other hand, I don't like that the kindergarten chairs have wheels. I think the children can get too distracted by moving around in those chairs or by the movement of their other classmates. Little children are distracted by any little thing.

When touring this school I noticed a lot of differences from my elementary school. HOB is a very nice school they definitely thought everything out well when building it. Something I found interesting was how they have a theme and they made the inside of the school look like a ship which was very cool, especially adding the details when you walk in, the sails across the ceiling, the enclosed water sculpture, and the walls covered in wood to give the ship feeling. Something else that I noticed was the decks that they had for the kindergarteners which is good for small learning groups or if you wanted to bring more than one classroom together to do a lesson. Another thing that really stood out to me was the private bathrooms which I think is very important at a young age because they may feel uncomftorable using a public bathroom. A major difference from any school that I have been to is having the deck and having tecnology stations in them, I find that to be very beneficial for students. I thought that the outside learning area was very good for students and I would've loved to have that option. If I were to be a teacher at HOB I would definitely enjoy it there is every recource you need to be a sucssesful teacher which is very important. Overall I found HOB very interesting and enjoyed touring it.

Having the opportunity to virtually tour H.O.B elementary was overall such an interesting experience. While on the tour I couldn't help but notice all the ways that H.O.B differed from the elementary school I attended. For instance my elementary school did not have a theme. It had a very basic build and but was still very warm and simple appearance wise . I found H.O.B's effort to incorporate a theme through the schools appearance to be really compelling and unique. I could tell a lot of planning and devotion went into the creation of this school. However I feel like H.O.B was definitely more modernized compared to what I used to from when I was in school. It kind of felt strange to me. I didn't feel like I was touring what I consider in my head a "typical" elementary school. Everything was super high tech and the layout of the classroom and other parts of the school felt like offices rather then cozy, welcoming classrooms. I'm not saying that there is anything necessarily wrong with this, it just goes to show how much elementary schools have evolved since I was younger.

After taking the virtual tour I wouldn't mind teaching at H.O.B yes it different from what I'm used to, but change isn't always a bad thing. I think actually that being more modernized is actually a good looking at it from a teachers perspective. Since H.O.B seems to be a well funded school with a plentiful amount of resources it would make my job as a teacher less stressful. I wouldn't have to worry about not having enough materials or access to technology. Overall I feel like being a teacher at a school like H.O.B because it would be easy to make learning for my students fun and effective.

In going through the virtual tour of H.O.B. I noticed a lot of differences from my elementary school. For example, my elementary school had only one playground for all grade levels to use, while H.O.B. has one for the younger grades and another for the older grades. Another difference is that H.O.B. has a common room and also an outdoor classroom which my elementary school did not have. My elementary school, while it did have some form of theme, was not themed as heavily as H.O.B. is. The school in general was very different from the elementary school I went to.

Personally, I feel as though I would definitely enjoy working at a school like H.O.B. Just from the small amount of the school that I got to see with the virtual tour I got the feeling that the atmosphere there was very nice. Obviously, I'm certain that there are various negatives about working at the school, as there are with everything, but from what I have seen I can't find anything that I would call a negative. All of the things that I saw in the classrooms seemed like they were good quality which I feel would make teaching easier than a classroom with lower quality things. H.O.B. seems like it would be the type of school I would enjoy working at.

When touring HOB I noticed a lot of differences from when I went to elementary school at North Georgetown Elementary. At NGE I remember the class rooms being more traditional we did have collaborated learning but very little, while HOB have larger shared spaces like the deck where classes can come together and collaborate. Which i thought was very unique. NGE didn’t have any themes for hallways or sometimes even classrooms, but HOB has fun themes like the pirate theme in the staircase. HOB also has more updated technology and a brighter feeling in the classes. Though both schools Crete a welcoming feeling, i think HOB definitely gives students more opportunities to learn in creative and exciting ways.

There were a variety of things that stood out to me throughout the virtual school tour. What stood out to me was the different levels of seating (flexible seating), making sure everything was at eye level of a child in most of the classrooms, as well as how efficient and easily functional/movable the furniture (school desks, benches, and student chairs) were. Looking back to my elementary school; in my experience, my school was colorful and was eye level and it was very efficient to move around in the classroom as well as there was an easy accessible bathroom (pre-k through first grade). So for the most part my elementary school was very similar to HOB. However, I do not recall my classroom having cubbys like the ones in HOB and we did not have flexible seating. My elementary school had only so much extra seating and no flexible seating that I know of.

Some of the pros of HOB were in the school as there was a theme all throughout the building, everything can be moved efficiently, as well as everything was vibrant and welcoming. There were not many cons that I could think of, however, I do think there could be more flexible seating in the classrooms or even carpet squares. Also maybe have the classrooms be more decorated (welcoming) just like how decorated the doors are. I believe that I would enjoy teaching at this school, from what I saw on the virtual everything looks nice, clean, and efficient. The classrooms that I saw were pretty spacious and the school seems very organized. Overall the school is definitely great and inviting.

First I want to say HOB Elementary School looks very inviting and nice. As a kid I attended Shields Elementary located in Lewes. It's newly renovated and now a middle school. Also, Shields is now called Lewes Elementary. I made lots of great memories at Shields but it's great to see the new and improved schools. It's nice to see how improving education is a priority. One thing that stood out was the stage located in cafeteria. When I was in elementary school it was strictly for lunch. Also, the upper level leads to stairs with inspirational sayings. It's encouraging for students and teachers alike. Plus, not all elementary schools have the music special. So it's very cool that HOB has it. I love all the teacher spaces and study space for students. A con for me would be the lockers in the classroom. I feel it takes too much space and may cause traffic between students when they need to grab their things. They might be on top of each other. But a pro of having lockers for upper level students is that it prepares them for middle school. I love that each classroom has it's unique theme. I'm not sure if the younger students could handle chairs with wheels on them but I feel it depends on classroom management. As a student the chairs with wheels helped me focus in a way. But I could imagine chairs with wheels could cause a distraction. I think the tables in classrooms having wheels makes it easier for a teacher to rearrange room. In the future I would love the opportunity to work at HOB Elementary School because it looks like a positive work environment. The environment seems inviting and catered to each student. A lot of space for students to learn whether it's outside on playground, specials, or studying in flexible seating area with learning tools.

When I went on the tour at HOB, I noticed a big difference compared to the elementary school l attended. The building looked very organized, and everything seemed to be in good condition, which made the environment really comfortable for the children. The classrooms felt welcoming and had enough space for students to learn and enjoy their time at school.

Back in Brazil, my elementary school was much smaller. We also had a comfortable environment, and the desks and chairs were similar to the ones at HOB, but the classrooms were very small and didn't have many colors or decorations. At HOB, there are more options, more space, and the classrooms feel brighter and more inviting. Even though both schools had some similarities, I think HOB offers more resources and opportunities for students.
