School's that only have one type of race in their schools and not a variety, will have a different perspective on what is right and wrong. Within teacher's and the school district they are part of, there will be different ways that they will resolve an issue.

Biases and Inequities Found

Due to the type of race, you will get treated differently. The students that attended at Westfield were predominantly by Latinx and Cherokee students (they were getting chanted, "Build-the-wall" by the opposite school)
It is stereotyped when individuals think that Latinx are associated with immigration issues that occurs

Teacher's don't know how to react when a comment about race is being said

Long-Term Solutions

School districts should have a meeting and make a plan about having a more culturally responsive curriculum, where there is a variety of different perspectives and histories that students can reflect and have a more knowledgeable understanding of the different cultures. Additionally, teachers and staff should be provided with ongoing anti-racism and cultural training, this helps educators recognize their own biases and find ways in how they can include it into their schools and classroom for a more positive outcome.

Short-Term Solutions to Bias

Create groups where students can discuss race and related issues openly and safely
School's should host event that celebrate diverse cultures and histories

Plan of Action

Mr. Bertrand should have explained that what the students in The Green Hill side were doing was wrong and unacceptable. Instead of being silent, he should have reassured his team that the things they are saying isn't right and that they aren't educated, meaning that the things they are saying is wrong. Additionally, the Green Hill coach should have said something to his players that their remarks are disrespectful and hurtful words.
