         <description><![CDATA[<div>Communication can be a serious problem in children:<br><br>Autism: Developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication, and behavioral challenges.<br><br>Children with ASD often times are self absorbed and have their own private world. Causing limited ability to successfully communicate and interact with peers. Communicating with and understanding others. <br><br>How can we help:<br>Highly structured, specialized programs. Using eye contact, gestures, body movements, imitation, and babbling. Single word and phrases.<br><br>However some children with ASD may never develop oral speech and language skills. There are goals of making symbol system which includes pictures to process thoughts.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Both categorized under the Autism <strong>Spectrum Disorder (ASD):</strong><br>Not all children with ASD will show all behaviors but most will show several. <br><strong>Types of Behaviors: </strong><br><strong>Restricted/ Repetitive Behavior: </strong>Repeating certain behaviors, Overly focused interests, example of moving objects/ parts of objects, Lasting, intense interest in certain topics, example of numbers, details, and facts.<br><strong>Social Communication/ Interaction Behaviors:<br></strong>Getting upset by slight change in routine, Making little eye contact, Rarely sharing enjoyment of objects/activities, Responding in an unusual way when others show anger, distress or affection and failing/falling behind.<br>Evaluations are available almost all the time in many areas. Talking to your child(ren) doctor, school nurse, teacher, daycare provider, to access more testing and help.</div>]]></description>
