Ancient Egyptian grew beans,lentils,root,vegetables,lettuce and parsley.Farmers also grew fruit such as olives,figs,olives and grapes.Papyrus trees were grown so that their barks(a skin of a tree) be used for paper.

The river Nile was the main trading route, and vessels (ships) were commonly used to transport goods and commodities (goods for agriculture). The trade routes the Ancient Egyptians used ,exposed them to foreign (other countries) trades and cultures and this influenced the Egyptian merchants to participate in copper commonly used in producing ornaments and decorations . Furthermore, this strengthened their political / government bonds with other nations contributing to their economy.

Transport

Most major cities were located along the River Nile. They used the river for transportation and shipping.
Early Egyptians learned to make small boats out of the papyrus plant. They used these for short fishing trips.
Eventually the Egyptians began to make boats from wood. They used acacia wood from Egypt and imported cedar wood from Lebanon.
The first papyrus boats are estimated to have been made around 4000 BC.
Temples and palaces were often connected to the Nile River using manmade canals.
