POSITION- HISTORY
It’s a small town near Foggia, in the north of “ Puglia”.
The town centre is situated in a strategic point which includes Puglia, Campania and Basilicata, three regions in the Southern Italy. The first stronghold that dates back to the year 1000 it’s perhaps of Norman origin.
The first castle is dated 1050, but only one tower is left, now.
The true symbol of Rocchetta Sant’Antonio is the sixteenth-century castle wanted by Ladislao II d’Aquino but finished only in 1507. Another masterpiece is the church of 1754 with beautiful sacred immages by Scognamiglio Giaquinto Brudaglio and Cimafonte. You can still admire the bell tower of the sixteenth century. A visit to our town is highl reccomanded!!!
