During the conversation with the pilot, the little prince learned there was more to this life and wanted to discover the other parts of the world. The first 6 planets were all fantasy elements in the story. The little prince's planet is the first example of a fantasy world. He has a baobab tree which if it is not pulled out from the ground soon enough, it will very quickly take over his planet. His planet is extremely small and only consists of him, a flower and the sprouting trees. Another planet included a king. This king is not like ordinary kings though, he can only command people of what they already would do, such as yawning. The best example of another fantasy element was planet number 5. This planet occupied a light worker. The world's day and nights are only 1 minute long, so the light worker must turn off and on the light every minute. The little prince is not learning much from these adventures and finds adults to be quite useless. Things seem... normal here. As he reaches his final planet, he reaches his "trophy" he was looking for. During a discussion with a snake, the little prince discovered that he loved his little planet and wanted to return. Also, he comes across a garden bed of roses where he discovers that in life you have to learn to forgive and love what you nurture. The main points of the story map were the departure and quest for something, the fantasy world, and the return to the ordinary world. I followed these main steps and related it to the story "The Little Prince" by Antoine De Saint-Exupery. This assignment could be a great thing to include in my future classroom.
