Every day, more than 8 million plastic nappies used are taken to dump sites. Many sections of such nappies require up to 200 years to decay, creating degradation of the land and water. Furthermore, producing diapers needs 3.4 billion gallons of fuel oil per year. What's significant is that plastic slides require 20 times more raw materials, two times more water and three times more electricity to produce than slices of fabric. To addition to depleting natural capital, non-renewable carbon supplies are still used in the production of disposable diapers. Diapers that decompose emit methane into the environment. The gas may be volatile and flammable at large concentrations. Methane is often unsafe for breathing, because it passes for oxygen. Another problem is that the viruses excreted in the stool of a kid will potentially spill into local water sources. All these reasons show that it is better to use reusable diapers.
