The first scenes in the movie first of showing the American landings in Omaha Beach later follows a band of soldiers on a retrieval mission for one man. Some of the scenes that shocked me where when the team's medic Wade was killed it was brutal. And too see how distraught the remainder of the team came to be after his death. It really puts you into the soldiers' mindset as this type of action was seen continuously throughout the war. Later on as well we see the change in Upham, where he tried to abide by the rules but eventually broke the barrier killing a German whom he defended previously. My thoughts on why World War 2 was fought is that the League of Nations were to power hungry and wanted the people of Germany to suffer. Rather than mend the wounds they worsened them.
