Another similarity is that Jonas doesn’t know what he wants to do with his life, and neither do I. But for him, he doesn’t have as much time to figure that out as I do. Jonas is 12 so am I. He has a younger sibling, so do I. The Thing that separates us is that he lives in a world where every little aspect of his life is decided for him. For example he cannot ride a bike until he is 9 years old. There are many rules set where he live. If he every broke one of the rules he will be chastised harshly and “released” from the island. In my world there are many choices we can make on our own. Perhaps too many. For example I learned how to ride my bike at four years old, not nine.
