The most interesting character in my opinion is Hans Huberman. He's interesting because he has different perspectives on things and he's dedicated to teaching Liesel how to read. He seems to not really care about others' opinions or about what others have to say about his choices/what he does. 
2. This book takes place in Nazi German. I think the impact it will have on the story is how we're gonna see certain events connect with the Nazi's. Also how racism, and killing affects the characters personally.

The character I found interesting and liked the most was Hans Hubermann. Hans is Liesel father and he is very supportive with Liesel. He is a very caring and open minded person. Hans has been trying to teach liesel how to read even though he has difficulty himself to read. 
2. This book is taking place in Germany, during the 1900's. Being in germany during this time period will impact the story with a lot of war going around, because at this time WWII is beginning.
3. This book is fiction but it is made up from true stories of people who went through similar things. I prefer reading non fictional books because i like reading true stories and  see what people have been through in their lives.

To me, I think Liesel is a very interesting charater because at first when she was adopted by Hans Huberman and her wife. At first they had their struggles, but when Liesel started to get comfortable with them, she started to lighten up and become apart of the family.
2. The book takes place in Germany, between the late 1930s to early 1940s. I feel like this will impact the plot in some way because around this time was the second world war and from we know about that war it didn't end so well.
3. Our book is fiction but it was based on real events that had happened. I prefer it being fiction because even though the characters aren't real, they still implemented real events. We can get a different perspective of them.

What surprised me more this week was that they are keeping a Jewish person in a basement.
2.  An example of figurative language is on page 350 when it says "Please believe me when I tell you that I picked up each soul that day as if it were a newly born". This a metaphor and a simile.

My overall opinion of the book was deep but peaceful. For starters, the topic of "death" was giving back the book to Liesel while taking her soul away from her body. To me, I found that a bit dark. Secondly, she had left this world with a family who had cared for her and she didn't leave in pain either.
 2. The book can help us understand the topic of human rights because if we look at Max, a character who was Jewish, they mistreated him and singled him out from the others.

The ending was just all about death and how it's not just the ending of the book but also the end of the main characters life in the book. Many die  around the ending of the book which is sad and hurtful, knowing this happened in real life as well. 
2. This books gives us a perspective of how the holocaust accord.  And it shows us why humans rights are important because it helps prevent things like the holocaust to happen again. 
3.This book was very deep and interesting to read, and I recommend it. I rate this book 4 out of 5 because I did like it and all and i liked the plot and theme to it but it wasn't the best book I've read.

My opinion of the ending of the Book thief is that it was kind of like a happily ever after for Liesel even after all the events that took place. Even though she died, she lived a happy life. The book was overall kind of dark because one of the main themes was death and a lot of the characters of the book eventually passed away during the story.
2. This book can help us understand the topic of human rights because it shows us an example of a time where a lot of people were mistreated because of their religion. Jews were stripped away from the majority of the rights during the holocaust.
3. This book was overall a good book and even though it was fiction, it still related to real life events. This book can teach the reader a lot about how Jews were treated and discriminated against. Out of 5 I would give it 1 3. I give it this because sometimes it was kind of hard for me to understand what was happening because it was kind of all over the place. I would recommend this book to upcoming english honors students because it's a good example of human rights being violated.
4. I think the most important theme of the book was kindness because Liesel's family put their own lives at risk to keep Max safe. They were willing to throw their whole lives away for one person.
