I celebrate Christmas with my big family (all together we are 22 people). The youngest family member is one year old, the oldest one is 78. The children get their Christmas presents on the 24th of December in the evening. Before the children enter the living room to unwrap the presents, bells are ringing as a sign that christ child has brought the presents and has put them underneath the christmas tree. We have potatoe salad with sausages for dinner on Christmas Eve and oven-fresh roast goose with homemade red cabbage on December 25th. I like Christmas very much as I can spend much time with my family and have a great time.

In Ireland (EIRE) we celebrate Christmas with our families. Children get their presents on the morning of the 25th of December to much excitement.
The traditional meal would consist of 'Goose' but now it seems to be taken over by "Turkey'. Potatoes and vegetables make up the rest.
The 26th is St Stephen's day. This is really a very interesting day. Maybe you should look it up.

In Germany we celebrate Christmas with the whole Family: My Mother, Father, Sister, Grandparentes and my Girlfriend. Christmas is the biggest Event in Germany in a year. At christmas we eat something special every year, like Truthan, Gans or Fish.
We celebrate in our livingroom with many candels and the christmas tree of course. I love the christmastime and I hope that everybody is happy while the Christmastime!

On the other Christmas days we are doing things together like baking biscuits or other sweets.

In Turkey, you can see everywhere had prepared for Christmas before 31th December.
Some people decorate Christmas tree and buy Christmas stuffs.
Students usually make "Christmas sweeptakes". We write our names to papers, we close our eyes then we choose a name. We have to buy a gift who we choosed but we can't tell them. In Christmas day, we give present to each other.
We usually play "tombala" and eat fruits with our family. Tombala is a game like gamble and it's about numbers.

When we enter December,they start to decorate all over the streets and sales start at the stories. And at the last day of the year people get their christmas trees,decorate it and play tombala,eat snacks , watch tv.and welcome the new year with their friends or family together at their homes.There are also people who prefer to celebrate the new year outside.They go to the parties for the new year or celebrate it with a bunch of people on streets.Finally when it is getting closer to 12 am , everybody count down the last 10 seconds and get into the new year together.

As all the Christmas are holidays, my family and I we spent Christmas anchored in routine and tradicion. It could be like that, but it is not.
We always celebrate Christmas season at the home of my mother's family, because my father's family is in town and we do not usually go in Christmas days. We get together and we cook a big dinner. They are moments in which, only, you are with the people you love most and share stories, laughs, games… We always do something different.
