One example is in the Warsaw ghetto on April-May in 1946. The jews living in Warsha heard rumors that the army was going to deport the jewish people in the town to a nearby killing center. The Jewish Fighting Association, along with a few other groups attacked the nearby german forces with small bombs and other ammunition. This surprised the Germans, but they did end the fighting within three days. It took larger german forces a month to send everyone from the town to the killing camp. Some jewish peoples still found a way to rebell in this area by living and hiding in the buildings.

Concentration camps and extermination camps. The concentration camps were more used near the beginning of the holocaust. At concentration camps people had little food and were forced to do constant physical labour. The nazis would work them to the death. Hitler thought these concentration camps weren't killing jews fast enough, so they came up with a new plan. They wanted something efficient for killing large groups at once, and so extermination camps emerged. If you were sent to an extermination camp, you were sent to die there. These camps looked welcoming at first glance, with big welcome signs on the entrances. It is crazy to think about what survivors of these camps and overall survivors of this time had to go through. Many survivors of the labour camps explain how they would practice their religion in secret. One jewish man who survived the holocaust explains that him and many others all really relied on each other. Even what seems now like a simple task, like sharing your bread with someone else, would be something someone would hold onto.

There were camps similar to boy and girl scouts that children had to join at young ages that taught the kids the nazis beliefs. But unlike popular belief many people during this time were not "brainwashed." across Europe tens of thousands of normal people actively helped the germans. Often motivated by many centuries of antisemitism.

It ended with the military defeat of Nazi Germany and its European collaborators in World War II. Although the liberation of Nazi camps was not a primary objective of the Allied military campaign, Soviet, US, British, and Canadian troops freed prisoners from their SS guards. With hitler having lots of power after WW1, he was able to convince germany that these people (jewish people) were the cause for it. Making him able to spread the belief that these people needed to die and able to begin the genocide. germany was in a depression and people were at a low state, they fed off of hitler's words.

As you would expect, many people tried to avoid this. One way people would try and avoid getting sent away was by hiding in people's houses. A small number of Germans would hide jews in their houses, this was actually a very difficult task. The crime for hiding a jew or not telling information you had about a possible jew in hiding, was death. Nazis would perform checks of houses often so it was very difficult to hide a jewish person in your house. If you were caught hiding a jewish person you would be shamed by the community and killed.
