Definition: Theme is a common thread or main idea that is repeated throughout a literary work.

Definition: A simile is a figure of speech that makes a comparison, showing similarities between two different things. 

I believe that simile appeared when there was two different types of citizens on the island of Graynel. For example, there were people who thought building a bridge would be a great idea and the there were people who thought it was a bad idea and protested against the idea.
