Connect: There seemed to be a balance of white and black soliders. Was racism haulted during the war?
Extend: The night was the most haunting time they said, is this common for wars or was Vietnam specific.
Challenge: The letter wrote by one of the soliders talked about seeing his friend's face blown off, was the Vietnam war more gruesome than WW1/WW2.

What I thought was interesting was the quote of " this is the only war we got. Don't knock it" Because I wonder what wars are we present for? is there another war besides the issues in the middle east/ asia in the next 40-50 years that is going to happen?

Connect - The idea that injured soldiers returned to America and burdened society, similar to the solider in Forrest Gump who rather die in battle honourably, than live with his disabilities.

Extend - The use of helicopters saved thousands of lives, by bringing the sick and injured to medical centres. The idea that every generation has "its" war, this is now completely lost.

Challenge - The idea of nicknaming the other side, reminds me of "Kilroy was here". A possibly playful way of bringing hope and a small attack towards the enemy. I wonder if this aid morale? And if this is seen in all wars?

Connect: The way wounded and injured soldiers were treated was much more advanced than in the past biggest wars.
Extend: Was the 'agent orange' Vietnam specific, or was it used in other places? is it still used in some places?
Challenge: They said that it was hard to know who were the good and bad guys. I wonder how many 'good guys' and innocent citizens were actually killed.
