Various types of pH sensors have been fabricated for wound care applications. For example, several types of electrochemical pH sensors have been developed that can continuously monitor the wound environment.

Wound healing is a highly intricate, dynamic, and complicated series of processes. This intricate process involves a sequence of biological events that can be broadly categorized into 4 stages: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and the remodeling phase.
