I need to start learning to manage people under me.

How to negotiate your salary and the value that you bring to the company? The people that work hard will make a lot of mistakes to find the right solution instead the one that are not, however a lot of mistakes is seen as you are not competent and affecting your promotion. At the end of the day, the one that do less got the promotion in salary/ promotion, and we are the one left to clean up his mess

I feel like very hard to move from current to new level.

I think my CV is not so attractive

I dont know how to make the conversation interesting and always be short conversation.

Decided to pursue external self-promotion by job hopping after two/three years.

Job hopping seems to be the only way to achieve the career goals. Wont we jeopardise our career in the long run?

My salary expectations require management skills, but I have only managed 5 developers at most, and still doing technicals. So applying for management positions at high-profile companies makes me nervous and gives me KPI anxiety.

I feel nervous when a company or agent contacts me about a job vacancy, and when the topic of expected salary comes up, they just shut me down. Am I not good enough to ask for the salary I believe I deserve, knowing my limits and self-worth?

I believe my CV contains all the necessary information, but I’m unsure whether the template is appealing enough to attract top employers.

I wonder if I'm truly ready to step into the technical world. I’m concerned about whether I can successfully deliver on the proposed project.

I don’t know how to start the effective conversation with my manager on how to ask for promotion or projects that align with my interest and certificate. Sometimes, when I tried to speak about this, my manager seems not interested and change to other subjects.

How to ask for increment? Boss assume Data Science & AI should be in my job scope already (I am in Data Analytics scope)

MY APPROACH IN MOVING FORWARD:

Upskill in Microsoft Fabric which offered integrated data services in one place; to start me with doing analytics, data science, data preparation, all in one place. This also help me to go to company that use Microsoft as their main platform.

Current Position:

• Strong position within my company due to unique combination of engineering expertise + data skills

• Specialized knowledge makes me valuable in current role

• Fear of potential layoffs due to company downsizing

• Skills may not be as transferable/valuable outside current company

The Dilemma: Caught between being well-positioned internally but vulnerable to company changes, while lacking competitive advantage in external job market. How to build transferable value while leveraging current strengths?

Feeling: Stuck between staying safe but stagnant vs. risking career move without guarantee of matching current position.

I’m also curious about how I can leverage my current certificate effectively to break into the field, and how I might position myself to attract remote job opportunities.

2) After I posted my AI/DS certification in LinkedIn, I got many offer/invitation for interviews (local and oversea) for AI/ML/Data roles but I am afraid to go for it because my programming skill is limited to Python/SQL. In job description, I see they posted many qualification/skills that I am not familiar or touch before. This makes me "give up" to go to the interview.

3) I am expecting my next IT job's salary will be on par or more than my current salary. When I put my salary demand, most of employer ghosted me. So if I try to land a job in IT, and I consider myself a "newbie" in IT, I cannot demand high salary and most probably I will get lower than what I am getting now. Is this worth it to go for lower salary? I have passion in this field but not ready to lower my salary. The only way is to get oversea job, but I need to be skilled enough.

Thats my concern.

Since I'm not in the Data Science and AI field, this question always keep playing on my mind,

I tried applying to lots of company that has an opening, i still didn't pass the preliminary screening.

I want to transition into the Big Data field, since I found my passion here.

To be honest, I’m aware that even after obtaining the certification, I may need to consider a junior-level position with a lower salary if I wish to transition into a data science career, due to my lack of hands-on experience in the field.

Just wanted to share something I’ve been reflecting on. Even before I started taking the CDSP and CAIP certifications, I wasn’t entirely sure what I would do with them afterward. I come from a T&D background (specialising in tech), and while I enjoy what I do, I often find myself wondering how AI and data science will truly fit into my career path.

Still, I decided to pursue these certs because I believe they’ll add value and yes they helped me in more ways than I thought. It changed the way i see at things, the mindset, and improve my work process.

The future still feels a bit uncertain, but I’m hopeful that this will help me grow into a more specialised and future-ready role in L&D.

Lately, I’ve started to gain more clarity on the direction I want to take. But I’ve realized that what I really need now is the right mentor, people, or community to support and guide me along the way.

I was thinking about doing some DS project for my company. As they are not in my current job description, should I come in and charge them under consultancy? Maybe can guide me on how to do this?

To help with the transition, I took some Azure certification courses, hoping it would open up opportunities. But even with that, I’m still finding it hard to land a cloud-related role, since most recruiters seem to want people with actual hands-on experience.

I’m feeling a bit stuck and would really appreciate your advice. What steps can I take to make myself more appealing for cloud roles and successfully shift my career in that direction?

Basically, I've a project and might everyone can do it as well, which is start with AI Agent module.

Then it can touch a bit what we've learn in Microsoft course.

I did perform well in current role and manage to automate multiple finance processes, which lead to my promotions as a specialist. Facing few challenges in managing people and now realize that I should get back on track chasing my dream role which I enjoyed doing it. It still another blocker as most recruiter looking for people with more experience in Cloud.

Where should I start back?

Whatever you do, in the end of the day. What matter is peace of mind.

I’ve had some online interviews as well, but I tend to feel nervous when speaking, possibly due to lack of preparation and experience. I also struggle during interviews because sometimes my mind goes blank. I think I’m mostly worried about my English communication skills.

I joined GAIP24 C3 on 8/24 with intention to applied the skill on my workplace.

But, on 1/25, I need to resigned from the company because:

1. we are not paid for the salary for 2 months before (11&12 24)

2. If stay, given notice to 'cuti tanpa gaji'

3. 1 year of false contribution to kwsp

& personally I can't see the direction of this company anymore..

I started to do job search in 2/25, specifically after finished exam from the cert program..

From applying online in various platform (jobstreet, linkedin, indeed, myfuturejobs, facebook, company website) till joining career fairs..yet, no result.

I also research on how to write the resume nowadays, getting resume feedback from career fair that I went..during the job search.

During the job search, I also joined other training.. a 2 weeks training by SHRDC on data analytics & gen AI..thinking of I don't have enough skills as I don't get any job interview...

I also learn more about resume during this training.

Now I have a lot of resume versions.

And I even applied for the kyouth program that provide a contract staff programme on end of the april.

And the worst thing is, I can't provide the payslip to the peoplelogy! That may lead to the payback..

*I've sent my job search prove to peoplelogy.

In term of financial, fortunately get help from perkeso scheme, that can last for 6 month..

Suddenly, by the end of May, got approved to join the kyouth programme & now being placed in a host company for a 4 month contract.

Besides working with the host company, also have 4 days online bootcamp (include online courses & assignment) from this kyouth programme.

& financially, for this 4 month, fortunately is supported by montly paid by the kyouth programme.

Hence, now what should I plan/focus for the next step in my career?
