  • The word potato comes from the Spanish word patata.
  • China is the leading producer of potatoes
  • One of the main causes of the Great Famine in Ireland between 1845 and 1852 was a potato disease known as potato blight. The shortage of potatoes led to the death of around 1 million people who were dependent on them as a food source.

    The experiments that contained a variable died quickly showing that the growing process must be delicate 
    • Explain whether your data supported or refuted your hypothesis.
    It supported it because we thought the variable ones wouldn't survive
    • Explain any improvements you could make and/or any errors that occurred during the lab experience.
    The amount of sunlight each plant gets each day is uncontrollable so we could use a plant light to make it extremely fair
