When creating a classroom, you want to ensure it meets the students' needs. A classroom environment needs to be welcoming, have visibility, no distractable items, and be accessible to all students. Visibility when thinking about students in the classroom means that all students can see all areas where learning will take place; smart boards, whiteboards, easels, and all areas of learning will be visible from where the students are sitting. Visually also means that all students can be seen throughout the room by the teacher; there are no areas where the teacher's view of the students is impaired or blocked. By not having tall bookshelves or dividers in my classroom, I will have visibility of all students. With the student's tables positioned in front of the equipment used during teaching, all students can visually view during learning. Distractibility is having items out that may be put away during learning to allow students to focus on what's being taught. Too many toys, bright colors, or electrics that can be seen lying about can distract students from concentrating on their lesson. I will use bright colors in my classroom with the school's policy of no open blinds. It's essential to bring some brightness to the room. However, I will not overload the bright colors. All students need to have accessibility throughout the classroom. Too much clutter can cause students' classroom flow to become a problem that can lead to chaos. In my classroom, to avoid issues with accessibility, I will have all supplies put away and labeled so students are aware of where items are located for use and also remove any clutter in the classroom. I will ensure that tables and chairs are not too close together to avoid issues accessing students' desks or moving about through the classroom. I would like to have ABC posters, shapes, and numbers posted on the walls for learning and referring back to when the student may need to. Also, use magnetic curtain rod holders to post the classroom jobs calendar and month, date, day, and year for student's reference. During working time, students like to have background music. I will use anything that's jazz piano or relaxing as music. A calm, inviting, and fun environment for students to learn can bring so much energy to learning.

I choose to use the treatment agreement as my rules in my classroom. I will purchase this treatment agreement from Amazon, have it laminated, and hang it on the wall in my classroom. On the first day of school and throughout the school year, I will review the treatment agreement with the students. At the start of the school year, students will sign the treatment agreement hanging on the wall. When teaching the treatment agreement, I will role-play and give examples of what is expected under each section. I will have students role-play to ensure they understand the treatment agreement. The treatment agreement defines what's expected from students to students, students to teachers, teachers to students, and students and teachers to the classroom.
