• Releasing myself daily of anything I can’t control or that happened prior to arriving at work through my morning routine. Breathing & Meditating
• Remembering my “Why” using the 3 levels of Passion mentioned in the book study. (Content, Professional & Personal)
• Encouraging others to find their passions to help navigate their ”Why”.
• Finally addressing the needs of our students through diligent hard work through team work and a positive work environment.

In order to be the best "me", I must release those things that are out of my control and stop wasting my energy on them.
2. Remember it takes the whole team to succeed.  Be flexible, remain positive and be willing to jump in and help wherever needed.
3. Rediscover my passion post COVID-19 and understand/remember my "why".
4. Self care is vital to the success of the team. Each member must remember to "take care of you"!
5. We will meet the total needs of students by working together as a team and building a safe and positive "haven" for students. "One band, one sound!"

In reflecting on our 2022 admin retreat, my essential ideas and takeaways in Navigating the Voyage Into Excellence this year , as a leader, are as follows:
1. I must remember to put my "Oxygen Mask" on first, before others. This is accomplished by  practicing self-care. We should practice self-care in relaxation, letting go of all that occurred last year, prayer, mediation, massages, breathing exercises and keeping our mind on joyous events in our lives.🤗
2. Reigniting our passion as Educator Leaders by Remembering our "Why", which is what we enjoy about our position, responsibilities, and in our personal lives. This will keep us passionate about student and teacher success. A favorite quote of mine in section 1 of our "Lead Like a Pirate" book , is "Working hard for something we don't care about is called stress; working hard for something we love is called passion." 
3.  I am excited about being a part of our admin team and being courageous leaders where we continue to Navigate and build up our school to reach the goal of;
 Our teachers being excited to come to Hines and "teach" and ... our students are excited to come to Hines and "learn".  This Voyage into Excellence will yield and achieve academic growth and success for all of our students at JHC!

Rediscovering my “why” and reigniting my passion for education so that I can better support our teachers and students. I am excited about this school year and can already see that I will be learning from and working with the best team, navigating this “fantastic voyage” with passion and heart. I cannot pour from an empty cup so I will keep self-care top of mind and remind our team to do the same.
