His answer is to contribute a "verse" to the world, meaning to add something meaningful to the world. This is reflected in Dead Poets Society, as Mr Keating teaches the young boys to do something meaningful with their lives and peruse a life of fuffilment

What I will give to this world will be a world filled with clean energy. I will pursue Nuclear Physics and lead new innovations and technology that will further nuclear energy and cause the fire of cheap, clean energy that will sweep over the world and hopefully end the reliance on other forms of energy for all of humanity's needs, and hopefully translate the nuclear reactor into ships and planes, and finally rid the need for the strained, dirty resource of fossil fuels. I hope that one day I will help the human race succeed, despite our large faults, we all deserve to live. Each and everyone of us. and I hope to ensure that by providing efforts to stop the huge change in the climate and pursue clean, efficient energy in order for our species to flourish, and expand, and grow, and gain a better sense of the things around us and each other, for if we pass this trial if we can change the world for the better and save it, and nothing after that will be impossible.
