Water pollution is a danger to the health of individuals as it may pass different diseases such as typhoid and cholera. It can also affect the biodiversity and species living in waters.

Antipolo City has a high level of water pollution in the area. Rivers are heavily polluted with large amount of garbage and trash floating in it. An example of this is the Sapang Baho, which ranges from different areas such as Cainta, Taytay, Marikina, and Antipolo. In a study conducted by Diola et al., the most evident waste in the river are plastics. Results show that plastics dominated the river waste with 27.33% overall of the waste gathered in the river which are mostly film plastics (47%).

Some technological advancements such as electronics uses materials that are harmful to water body. These trash traps were successfully able to collect about to 30 tons of solid waste in the area.

To expound, we should also recycle waste to create trash traps. To build trash traps, use plastic bottles to make the foundation of the trap and use nets to collect the wastes floating in water bodies. Install the traps to where the current is going and make duplicates of the trap to make the collection effective. However, keep in mind that the government should not only provide them with housing, but also with the necessary experience and job opportunities for a brighter future. Jobs nowadays require far too much experience, even though a person with no education could easily master them with enough training.
