So much that with Saul's request, "a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies." He killed twice as many men and took their foreskins.  He probably wanted to show Saul that he is ready to marry his daughter.

Saul's Perspective
Saul was very happy when he heard that Michal loved David because it was a way for Saul to get David killed. So Saul was in favor of this love, for his own personal gain.

Michal's Perspective
Michal loved David. Obviously, her fathers opinion matters to her and when she heard that her father agreed with her, she was happy. Although Michal's father really didn't care about her feelings at all, he cared about his own feuds with Saul.

My Perspective
I think that it was really cold for David and Saul. They did not care about what Michal really wanted. Saul used his own daughter to try and get back at his enemy, David. David used Michal to get back at Saul to show him how "big of a man he is".

Saul didn't like the relationship but wanted his daughter to be happy. Also and more importantly, he tried to use it for his advantage.
