to become more ‘online’ and accessible from a variety of locations (at the beginning at least the physical shop and headquarters). This includes stock levels, invoices, processing payments, finances, administration and general files. Identify the current state
No cloud usage, all based off desktop apps
Data backup is manual
Accounting is done on a desktop app, which is also out of date

Identify the future state

There will be two stores, one online and one physical. They will both need to be able to access the same data and files
To update the accounting processing app
Data back up automatically
Ideally make everything cloud based

Identify the performance gap

Currently on the whole everything is desktop based and to become the future state it needs to be more online.
New software will need to be adopted by the company, and potentially new hardware.
Training also will need to take place
Making a server which is accessible online would be ideal.

Identify opportunity and action for business process redevelopment

The opportunity beyond opening a new shop is easier and less time demanding processing.While the initial introducing stage of the new administrative processes will take time and effort, in the long run it will save the company time and money.

In terms of making files accessible online, microsoft 365 would be a recommended software.
for online data backing Mozzie online data backup is recommended. It is Auckland based and is charged per GB, which suits the smaller/medium sized business. Either a computer can be backed up, or the whole server. (https://mozzie.co.nz)
Getting an IT specialist who can make an online server would also be recommended.
