My thinking about technology in teaching has shifted as I’ve realised how overwhelming it can be—there’s so much to catch up on, and with the limited planning time teachers have, it’s challenging to explore and implement tools meaningfully. Technology also evolves so quickly that it’s hard to choose one tool that feels substantial and sustainable for the curriculum.

In my next placement, I’d like to take the risk of asking my mentor if I can try teaching a lesson using a new technology I haven’t worked with before, just to push myself out of my comfort zone.

Technologies have made teaching easier in some ways, such as online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic, and some applications offer templates that simplify teachers' lives. However, they also pose a risk for students due to addiction and eSafety problems.
