I recently accepted a position teaching fourth grade in a neighboring school district. Last year I worked in a special education classroom as I focused on school. I absolutely fell in love with education last year! In years past I had worked in the office and in ISS. I originally was going to school to be a school counselor and then quickly changed my mind last year to remain in the classroom. I love being in the classroom and with the kids. It has really become my happy place and I am ecstatic to have my own room this year! We just decided to departmentalize fourth grade. Other than that, I was adopted as a teenager by my aunt and uncle. I use to do ballet, jazz, and hip-hop dancing. I love gadgets! I also love finding fun and useful things online. In my classroom we will be using technology in a lot of different ways. I plan on incorporating some podcasts in to my lessons, watching videos, and doing some virtual field trips. A lot of my curriculum is online based as well. For example, our science curriculum has no textbook, it is all 100% online.
