My cool padlet by https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn Made with wonder en-us 2016-09-04 21:54:48 UTC 2024-05-25 18:10:11 UTC hello@padlet.com https://padlet-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/icons/Diskette.png Matt Conrad's Professional Biography: mconrad4 https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121504868 2016-09-04 21:57:37 UTC https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121504868 In 1997, Matt began his career journey in public education.  Having recently completed his teacher intern program requirements at Susquehanna University, he student taught with his intern certificate at Selinsgrove Area Middle School.  During the Summer of 1997, there were some middle and high school science positions available to interview for, none of which were in the Susquehanna Valley where his wife Amy and he grew up.  After many interviews, Matt was hired for his first full time position as a grade 7 science teacher at Lamberton Middle School in the Carlisle Area School District.  While going down to sign his first contract, Matt was pulled over for speeding going down route 11 and 15.  He must have been excited for that first job.  Matt really enjoyed Carlisle and loved his team/colleagues.  Around the beginning of April, the Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education informed Matt that he would be moving to the High School the following year to teach Earth and Space Science and it would only be half time.  With that information, Matt decided to apply to other districts where he could teach full time.  Matt interviewed and was hired by the Jersey Shore Area School District to teach seventh and eighth grades at the Junior High building.  Once again Matt looked forward to a new place and a new challenge.  While at Jersey Shore, Matt met many great people, and enjoyed teaching the students new things in Science.  He even helped with after school programs and the Science Olympiad program.  One day, Matt received a call from an old friend and former colleague from the Selinsgrove Area Middle School letting him know that an eighth grade science position was open.  Matt interviewed and was offered the position.  Matt taught at the Selinsgrove Area Middle School for 8 years, while also coaching Wrestling, Track, and Cross Country.  Matt went to Penn State University and took Master's courses in Educational Administration.  Matt received his MEd in 2005.  One day in 2008, the Principal of Matt's school resigned.  The Assistant Principal was promoted, and Matt left the classroom to become the new Assistant Principal.  He interviewed against some stiff competition, but was up to the task and would not be denied the opportunity to show he could handle a new challenge.  Matt served as the SAMS Assistant Principal for 3 1/2 years.  In 2011, Matt was promoted to Principal at the Selinsgrove Area Intermediate School.  He has been the Principal of this building ever since.  Matt loves his job, his staff, and his building.  Selinsgrove Area School District is where he loves to be. mconrad4 https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121504904 2016-09-04 21:58:27 UTC https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121504904 mconrad4 https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121506201 Hello there]]> 2016-09-04 22:24:26 UTC https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121506201 My vision for Professional Development at SAIS. mconrad4 https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121506251 2016-09-04 22:25:04 UTC https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121506251 mconrad4 https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121506545 2016-09-04 22:28:52 UTC https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121506545 - Increased Student Achievement drives all our PD efforts mconrad4 https://padlet.com/mconrad4/bvqtps1f87wn/wish/121506581 - PD is focused and aligned to our district/building level goals
