I joined because i thought Music Ministry was cool. I always admired the Main music ministry from Youth. Most of the week I am listening to the songlist for the week. When everything sounds perfectly cohesive and when everyone is passionate about serving together, it makes me happy. My strength is having a good ear.

I was dragged to sing by my youth leaders. I wanted to try a different kind of service on stage. I dont think I had a wrong intention to serve. Ive been mistly caught up with work. I like seeing the congregation feeling connected to the worship. Im good at carrying a tune.

I served in music ministry and stopped for 2 years, initially I joined because there wasnt many male vocals and was asked jokingly. I didnt think much of it. I used to serve in my previous church in the music team as well, not because I really wanted to serve, i just wanted to join a ministry. The focus wasnt really there, i felt like j was just ticking a box to say i had a ministry. Most of the week, i would put the ministry on hold, not focus my time to practice. Only on the way to practice will i learn the song, but i havent memorised the lyrics, so when im worshiping, im focusing on whats the next lyric instead of getting the congregation to worship. Procrastination! When i get the right harmony, it makes me feel satisfied. I used to play in a band but was usually melody line. I can learn fast, my listening ear is good.

Initially, it was not my intention, but during the Christmas carolling, a pastor encouraged me to join. I really like to sing naman, my previous church was a choir, but i didnt want to join because they had a toxic environment with competitive people. Their testimonies were not positive, they were very conservative and too prying. When i came to this church, i said “one day i want to be on stage too and join the choir”. Memorising and learning the lyrics is my strength.

Receiving recognition, complements praises and it gets to your head, you can get proud. Not meeting others expectations causing me to overcompensate to want to be better.

Be open to correction, guidance. especially when we get guidance from others, to acknowledge our relationship with others when getting evaluation.

Feeing guilty of my own wrongdoings frustrates me in my own service. Tiredness from work can also frustrate me and affect my service.
