         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Can pass two types of laws: 1. statudes(applies state wide) 2. local/ special laws(only applies to certien counties or citys).<br>- The general assembly decides how much the state government will spend and how state expences will be paid for. <br>- <strong>Oversight committee: <br>-Laws </strong>(mangement of good and bad laws)<br><strong>- Impeachment: </strong>Accusing a government offical of chriminal acts. Then vote to have them removed from office. </div>]]></description>

House has 120 seats. <br>- <strong>Qualifications: </strong>2 years state residecy, 1 years district residency. <br>- <strong>General Assembly Leadership: </strong>Speaker of the house- presides over the house and makes key appointments. The Lieutenant governor iso also president of senate. The president pro tempore appoints peoples and makes key appointments. <br>- <strong>Legislative Sessions: </strong>In odd-numbered years the general assembly meets for "Long Sessions" (january-June). In even-nembered years they meet for "short sessions". Six weeks from may. <br>- <strong>Key Legislation: </strong>North Carolina Lottery for education. In 2006 minimum wage was imaproved.
