Social Studies is everything about the interaction of people within the world around us, past and present.

I was taught social studies in many ways. Hands-on reenactments, school plays with songs, note-taking/lectures, or watching films.

Social Studies to me includes geography, learning about historical events that have happened in our past, and getting insight into our government and how it works. Essentially, to me, Social Studies is an umbrella that covers everything related to the world.

I would define “Social Studies” as the study of specific historical events and how they impacted the general public, society, or a culture. Growing up, I was taught Social Studies in school through a lot of repetition, projects where our classes were able to present information we had learned, and of course through traditional lectures and readings followed by tests and quizzes to assess what we had learned. Sadly, I often would cram the information for a test and then end up not remembering a lot of the material.
