Michigan is shown in many different ways, but as of the three in this passage, we will start with historically. From the article “Major Events in Michigan History,” By Timetoast.com stated “General motors was founded in 1935.” (Timetoast 1). This was about how Michigan/Detroit is known as the motor city, which was founded by one man, Henry Ford, who was born and raised in Michigan, but passed on April 7th, 1947. Another website, Ducksters.com, talks about how we lost our state to the British, but later on we regained control and became the 26th state to be created. Just these two events show how Michigan has deep history but it is not talked about enough to others so they could see the foundation of this state. History spills into a lot of things about Michigan, like the games that everyone loves, sports.

Lakes, forests, fields, beaches, the beauty of Michigan is a beautiful thing. Now from where you're at, you'll see 4 seasons, especially brutal winters, bad roads, and farm land. But believe me there is a lot more nature and beauty than you might have known. Michigan not only offers its beauty, it also includes lots of history and a multitude of activities such as, water/beach days, hiking, sports, and many buildings to visit. The Great Lake state is historical, sporty, and has many beautiful places.

Not only is Michigan known for its history, but also known for the variety and importance of sports. Michigan has many professional teams, which have all had their ups and downs, but our fan base has shown much support through all of it. From the website Identitycreative.com states “Detroit Lions fans hold records for roaring with a Stadium Volume over 130 decibels, as loud as an airplane,” (Identity Creative 1). This shows how loyal and ruthless the sport fan base is, and how we show our love and appreciation for our teams in the city of Detroit. Another portion of our sports is how many wins we have, between the big four sports (Hockey, Football, Baseball, Basketball) we have a total of 22 championships, which Google could tell you, but this is a pretty good number considering every team competes to win the one for the whole year. Yes some number of years Detroit won’t have good teams but overall Detroit has won a multitude of championships even though it can be a struggle. Now that we have discussed some big topics about the state, now we need to talk about the beauty that some need to see.

Petoskey, known for its beautiful scenery and the state rock, Petoskey rock. Michigan.org states “A Petoskey stone is a rock and fossil from the colonial coral that once lived in the warm Michigan waters over 350 million years ago. It is covered in hexagonal shapes with a dark center and thin lines that radiate from it.”(Pure Michigan 1). This Petoskey rock has so much beauty and history, this has become one of the most populated places for tourists to visit. The soft sanded beaches with the clear blue water is an awe inspiring view that is breathtaking to take in. The state of Michigan has so much to offer and is a need to put on your bucket list.
