The teacher just needs to download the app on their smartphone or tablet. The students do not need to provide any technology of their own.
1. Teacher downloads the Plickers app
2. Students are given Plickers cards to answer questions that will be scanned in by the teacher through the app.
3. You can set up classes and pre-determined questions through the app
4. The plickers cards have 4 sides with A,B,C,D and students will turn their cards towards their answer choice.
5.
How I can implement it in my classroom?

I might incorporate plickers in my classroom as a formative assessment to see where students' understanding are throughout a lesson. I could use it to start class or as an exit ticket. I may ask questions like what skill about shooting a basketball do you struggle with the most? On the flip side, asking what aspects of soccer that we went over do you feel the most confident about?

Information for other teachers to consider

Plickers is a great tech tool for assessment in PE, but that doesn't mean it is the best support for the students in your class. The teacher has to make sure the tech tool fits the class not for the class to fit the tech tool. As a result, trial and error is a great process to use to figure out what works best for the students. Students need some practice time on how to use plickers correctly, especially elementary students. Also accommodations or modifications may be needed to use plickers for students with disabilities and ELL.
