         <description><![CDATA[<div>Athens treatment of women and slaves: Athens treated their woman like slaves because free men were only considered citizens. Women could not own their own land and many of the time they couldn't marry who they wanted. Slaves in athens were poor and most of the time would teach children and would also work on farms and in the city as clerks. Some slaves would work 300 feet below the surface with barely any air to breath in silver mines.<br><br>Sparta's treatment of women and slaves:  Sparta's women lived the same life as Sparta men. women were supposed to be strong and healthy like Sparta men so if Sparta needed them they could fight. Slaves had some free rights after a while if Sparta slaves got enough money they could by  their freedom</div>]]></description>
