Each student will select a book at their own level with the help of Miss Potter. They will read this book several times; each time they will use one of the strategies they learned in October to help them understand the story.
At the end of the study, there will be a project that the student can complete 1 of 3 ways:
  • diorama of the setting of the story
  • retelling of the story from another character's point of view
  • a chart including facts about the story: characters, settings, plot points, etc.

We are still doing our weekly vocabulary and spelling test on Tuesdays. Students will still receive their new word lists every Wednesday morning.

We are going to learn specifically about the type of soil that we have here in Temiskaming Shores (little hint, a nickname for our region is "The Little Claybelt").

A special project that we will be undertaking is composting.
