Many people believe that American biologist James Watson and English physicist Francis Crick discovered DNA in the 1950’s, but in fact, it was first identified in the late 1860’s by Swiss chemist Friedrich Miescher. It applies mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in an effort to explain the origin of those objects and phenomena and their evolution.          <description><![CDATA[<div>In 1907, Scott Paper introduced the Sani-Towels paper towel, the first paper towels.<br> <br>If electricity makes life easier for us, you can thank Michael Faladay. He made two big discoveries that changed our lives. In 1821, he discevered that when a wire carrying an electric current is placed next to a single magnetic pole, the wire will rotate. This led to the development of the electric motor. Ten years later, he became the first person to produce an electric current  by moving a wire  through a magnetic field. Faraday's experiment created the frist generator, the forerunner of the huge generators that produce our electicity.</div>]]></description>

With this knowledge, he was able to create the first periodic table, one of the most important discoveries in chemistry. </div>]]></description>

Evolution<br>In 1859 Charles Darwin came up with the theory of evolution which&nbsp; changed our idea of how life on earth developed. Darwin argued that all organisms evolve, or change, very slowly over time. These changes are adaptations that allow a species to survive in its environment. These adaptations happen by chance. If a species doesn't adapt, it may become extinct.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br> <strong>Antibiotics</strong> are powerful drugs that kill dangerous bacteria in our bodies that make us sick. In 1928, <a href="https://www.factmonster.com/encyclopedia/medicine/biographies/medicine-biographies/fleming-sir-alexander"><strong>Alexander Fleming </strong></a>discovered the first antibiotic, penicillin, which he grew in his lab using mold and fungi. Without antibiotics, infections like strep throat could be deadly.<br>  In search of fame and fortune, Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan set out from Spain in 1519 with a fleet of five ships to discover a western sea route to the Spice Islands. He was  the first European who became  cross the Pacific Ocean. The voyage was long and dangerous, and only one ship returned home three years later. . Magellan himself was killed in battle on the voyage, but his ambitious expedition proved that the globe could be circled by sea and that the world was much larger than had previously been imagined. </div>]]></description>
