         <description><![CDATA[<div>Paul Gilster defines digital literacy as the ability to use and understand information in digital formats from a wide range of sources, when I first read this article the first week I was a little nervous about this course. I had never really sat down to think about what it was, throughout this course I have learned that there is so much that goes into what digital literacy means, and it can mean different things to different people. Digital literacy to me is knowing how to navigate your way through technology to gather information so that you can relate it to a topic and then share out what you have found. It is being able to decipher between what is good information and bad information on the web. Since there are so many websites out there and different tech tools, it is so important to be able to decide which ones are valuable. Through digital literacy you can communicate with others (whether it be students or other professionals)<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>AH HA Moment</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My epiphany of learning came when I was reading up on how to integrate technology into the classroom (Edutopia). When I went back and reread the articles for the project, I realized that where I thought I was in the 8 stages in the teacher technology journey (Integration, where it was a sense of normality), and where I actually fall now (experimentation), was completely different and that it was ok! The article on how to integrate technology has a lot of great suggestions on how to use what you have in your classroom to its full advantage. Some classrooms you are in could have a tablet per student, and some schools you teach at could have a tablet that each class has to share. There are schools that you have to go to the resource lab in order to share a computer with everyone else in the whole school, so I realized that technology isn’t a part of normalcy and every day life for everyone.&nbsp; It was like a lightbulb went off in my head, when I was tutoring last semester in a class of second graders I tended to rely a lot of online digital tools for my lessons, and it got me thinking that I need to make sure that I know how to teach these lessons in different ways as well. I have printed out the list of tools and websites to use when you have a certain student to technological tool ratio so that I can be prepared in my future classroom!<br><br></div>]]></description>
