<title>Transitional Bilingual Education offers instruction of English using the different modalities including listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students also receive instruction in the content areas in their home language. Generally, the program may start with instruction being given in the home language 60 percent of the time and 40 percent of instruction is in English. As Baker noted, the TBE model tends to decrease &quot; the use of the home language in the classroom&quot; and is promoting an assimilationist aim by promoting English acquisition as the main goal (Baker, 2021)</title>

<title>Dual language bilingual education is designed to &quot;offer students the opportunity to be bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural&quot; as stating in the NYSED video. Native English speakers and English language learners can be in this program. Instruction is generally delivered in English 50 percent of the time and 50 percent in the home language. </title>

<title>Dual language one way programs are offered to students who share the same home language. Unlike the dual language two way program, the classroom roster does not include native speakers. Students receive instruction half the time in English and half the time in their home language.</title>
