The strengths mean that they have the right to make money, tax money, they can make the treaties with other countries for peace and trade, and they can tax the states if they need money. This was good because if they need money they can just borrow it or tax it. It is also good that they can create treaties if they ever need to. They can make coins which is good because when they ever need money then they can make it.

The weaknesses mean that there is no president and no national court system. These were very weak because their too little power being held by the government and there was no court to have this handled in. These weaknesses could have been improved on by the government ratifying the Articles to allow them to have a court system and a president.

Summary

The Articles of Confederation failed because of its weaknesses because with no national court system and no one in charge the government would be chaotic. They tried ratifying the Articles of Confederation by calling the thirteen states to come help ratify the Articles of Confederation, but most states did not end up going. So they ended up creating the Declaration of Independence. The weaknesses effected the the government because with no president there is no one specific person in charge which makes it hard to create new laws. With no national court system they have to use smaller courts and that effects how the trials would end out.
