The grassland biome is made up of wide, large areas of open grass that is maintained by grazing animals and fires. The climate is ideal for the growth of grasses only. While tropical grasslands have wet and dry seasons that stay warm all the time, temperate grasslands have warms summers and cold winters with moderate rain. The rainfall is the highest toward the middle of the year, then starts to lower at the end and beginning of the year. Toward the middle of the year, the climate reaches to about 77 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer, and stays mostly warms during the year while having cooler winters. The amount of cover depends on the degree of grazing and precipitation.  The average sunlight the grassland gets is about 11.86 hours a day.
