Bacteria can be found pretty much anywhere. It's on our bodies, the floor, our socks, chairs, etc. Bacteria can be more common in places where lots of people walk through. Areas like keypads, locks, and bathroom sink handles are more prone to bacteria because many people touch them on a daily basis.

The sources with the most bacteria were the bleachers and the bathroom sink handles, because they had the biggest amount of bacterial growth out of all the areas tested. We tested the vending machine buttons, hurdles for APC, the bleachers, and the locks on the lockers. Out of all of these the bleachers had a larger colony count. The bathroom sink handles had a colony count around the same size as the bleachers.

I believe that the bleachers and the bathroom sink handles contained the biggest growth in bacteria, because these areas are touched a lot. We saw that the places that were touched a lot had cells that reproduced through the process of binary fission. The bleachers are sat on, walked on, and are exposed to a variety of bacteria because they aren't cleaned very often. This gave the bacteria a suitable environment to reproduce in, so the bleachers and sink handles had the largest colony count.
